The Global Day of Prayer will be preceded by 10 days of prayer following the example set by first believers who “joined together constantly” in prayer (Acts 1:14).

During these 10 days (between the ascension of Jesus and the descent of His Holy Spirit on Pentecost) believers will be organizing ways to pray together beginning Thursday, May 1, through Saturday, May 10.

This year Dallas will kick off the Global Day of Prayer for the rest of the world. Typically held on Pentecost Sunday, Dallas will host a Saturday evening prayer and praise service at the Dallas Convention Center. Prayer events are planned in over 200 nations involving millions of Christians who will seek God’s glory for their land. Join us Saturday, May 10, 2008, at the Dallas Convention Center Arena as we seek Christ for our city.

Celebrate Freedom is the nation’s largest free outdoor concert and will take place on June 27 and 28. Evangelist Luis Palau is partnering with KLTY and Interstate Batteries in an effort to mobilize and enhance existing DFW church communities. Over 40 artists will perform in addition to Family Fun Zone and Livin It Action Sports demonstrations.

Following the Global Day of Prayer will be 90 days of compassion and community transformation. In Dallas, churches and businesses will work together to bless the city with seven Habitat for Humanity builds, a community clean-up, prison outreach, evangelistic block parties and more. Watch the video!
